Are there others gradually building up a knowledge of mineralogy who know what a catsplosion is and why a small cliff is desirable?

Guh. I miss the days of good ASCII games. First one I played was on a friend's computer and I was hoooooked.

Dwarf Fortress is a modern game with an Ascii interface. The actual engine is pretty intensive. So is the bookkeeping and the learning curve is steep.
