Dwarf Fortress

Am I a lone aficionado, or one of many digging deep, killing kittens, smoothing out boulders for the wagons, seeing off the goblin hordes and wondering where the elves get all that wood if they don't chop down trees? Are there others gradually building up a knowledge of mineralogy who know what a catsplosion is and why a small cliff is desirable?

I play with the basic ASCII. No fancy graphics for me, no sirree. It's a complicated computationally-expensive database, I like it to look like one...
