Hey there. I'm on my second play through on Mass Effect. My Sheppard is a female, which I suppose is to be expected. If at all possible, I play my characters as women. I was wondering, do those of you who play ME play as male for another perspective, like some men will play through as a woman. Or do you simply play through as women? If so, why?
Personally, I think I'll always play ME as a female. I mean, most games don't offer the option to change the sex of the main character. Thing is with ME, it feels awesome being the hero as a woman. The one person who changes the fate of the galaxy. I kinda love it.
I love ME, and will probably play through a bunch more times. Thanks to the multitude of starter options, I can't imagine this game would ever get boring.

Yeah, I think FFXIV is probably more in line with magical girl. It's very anime/manga.
I've always been a fan of science fiction, so ME really suits me.

... so does FFXIV, sort of, since the Garleans use so much magitek it looks like freaking Star Wars sometimes. Although I understand it's debatable whether or not Star Wars counts as science fiction.
I grew up with sci-fi too, I've just been having trouble getting through Mass Effect. Partly because of this, and partly because of reformatting and changing character designs and stuff meaning I've played through the start like three times now and have to do so again. >_>;
