I can already tell. (Did I mention that someone gifted it to me? Someone gifted it to me. Someone thought I was cool enough and awesome enough to deserve something nice that I didn't need!)
Oh good, the summer getaway badge tracks how much you've spent since the sale started. Now I'll be able to check exactly how much money I waste in total right from the steam interface!!
I'm mostly just dropping in to say Bastion is well worth its current $2~ price. It's a fun little game of its own right, but the gorgeous soundtrack and art plus the smoooooth narrator push it through to being awesome all around. There's a demo if you want to check out the gameplay (available on Steam and on chrome web store).
How does everyone feel about the trading cards thing being integrated into the sale? I thought that getting the cards and any other dealies was predicated on spending, but I just got the first card today.
Tip for people who want to partake but not go crazy - go to a store where you can get a Steam Wallet gift card, buy it in the amount that you are ok spending, then go home and put the gift card into your account. If the game you've been waiting for shows up in a flash sale or something, you've got funds to cover it, but when you've emptied your wallet, you're done. I do this with Steam and with iTunes and it works out really well - even if my general cashflow isn't great, when I plan ahead and have money set aside, I can still partake in sales.
Most of my wishlist is varyingly on sale; I picked up a Skyrim DLC last night (and gifted the SKyrim Legendary to a friend who's having a rough time, which I love about Steam - how easy that is to do), as well as a copule of cheap things. My gaming tastes are so narrow that the steam sales aren't really horrendous for me, fortunately.
