Anyone played Pathfinders?

My sweetie and I were looking for an additional gaming group, and we met up with a Pathfinders DM a couple weeks ago. We had coffee at a Borders and assured him we weren't ax murderers (we much prefer chainsaws), and we're supposed to have a pre-session to develop characters (I'm thinking of a druid, I've never played one before).

So I've been reading up a little and it looks like an interesting universe and set of rules to play with (I've played two campaigns of D&D 3.5). Anyone out there have any tips or tricks they can pass on about Pathfinders?

I wish I could help you, but I've never played Pathfinders at all. Actually, I was kind of hoping you could tell me about it; that's a gaming system I'm unfamiliar with.

It's a tabletop RPG like D&D, only where D&D evolved from edition 3.5 to 4, Pathfinders stopped at 3.5 and turned left at the fork in the road. They're publishing their first official rulebook (it's been in test play for about a year, there a pdf on http://paizo.com/paizo if you're interested).

The world I'm going to be playing with is in a new age. In the age before, most of the planet was covered with Dark Ice. Some Immortals were trapped in the ice and evil magic-users could tap the immortals' power.

I think I'm playing a half-elf druid.
