An introduction, of sorts.

Please tell us a bit about yourself and how you got into gaming, a bit about yourself, what your favourite games are. Let's get comfortable and get to know each other!

My neighbor/friend got me into gaming when I was about 10 or 11. We played Chrono Cross and it was epic! I've never been great at games (I use the guides) but I have a lot of fun playing them.
My favorite games are Final Fantasy X, RE3 (I've never gotten far, though - Nemesis scared meee), Silent Hill, DYNASTY WARRIORS!, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Pokémon and other similar games.
I have only had a Playstation, PS2 and Game Boy Color. I hope to soon own a DS or DSi :)

Eh, I've never seen anything really wrong with using guides, to be honest. =)

My family used to buy them religiously since we mainly played Final Fantasy and Pokemon games. Guides can help you with some of the more obscure side-quests, secrets, and mini-games, especially when the developer's stick in guide dang its like the Zodiac Spear in FFXII. They're also good for solving stupid puzzles, and just generally providing better tactics than you might have thought of yourself.

Right now I generally try and avoid reading guides unless I'm really stuck on a particular fight, or if there's some puzzle I've been trying to solve for hours. Really though, that's more of a stubborness thing with me, coupled with the fact I don't own a laptop so I have to switch off the game, march upstairs and then wait ten minutes for my computer to start if I want to look anything up. >.>

Anyway, sorry for the ramble. D'you like any Silent Hill games in particular, or just the first? Same with MGS and Pokemon, if you don't mind me asking. =)

Yeah, I wanted to get every nook and cranny in FFX so I got the guide and I didn't get far in FFX-2 but that guide was like a collector's item~ :D
Mostly, I agree, I don't want to miss anything!

Ah, yeah I got internet on my laptop a few days after starting Silent Hill 4 so yeah, that helped. It's pointless if you don't have one though, more trouble than it's worth.

I have played Silent Hill 1& 2 but did not very far (I rent games, not buy them so it stops me from getting far :/) but I finished Silent Hill 4~
The games scared me too much to get far back in the day, lmao!
I am very close with Sons of Liberty and the MGS2 (those are my fave), but I haven't played either in a very long time. As for Pokémon, I've beaten maybe half of them, if even (one kind from each generation up until GBA, since I don't have one xD). And my favorite was Yellow (so far).

Thanks! ♥

Yay for collecting! I definitely like to stock up on items, unless it's Silent Hill. There's not enough space :/
I wouldn't really know any GBA games, but I may end up just getting a DS because it's cheaper and less can go wrong since it's not new. I can always trade it in eventually for a discount on a DSi at my GameStop!

I must admit, I found RE3 to be the scariest of the RE series. I had a horrible time when I finished the game, played the little mini-game you unlock by finishing, and ended up with TWO Nemesises chasing me due to some glitch or other. It only happened the once, but it wasn't fun.

That is so awful but amazing at the same time! I would be so scared DX

I like Dynasty Warriors so much I want to roleplay one or two of them somewhere, which my serious self thinks is silly because most of them are loosely based on real people.

That would require a lot of brainpower/knowledge but who wouldn't want to roleplay as Nobunaga (yeah, different game I know) and like smash on everybody with awesomeness?

It's sad I have no DW icons D:

I've seen him in action. My boyfriend plays Samurai Warriors too, which I haven't gotten into. I just laugh at the idea of playing Ma Chao and the enormous stick up his you-know-what.
