lol - AD&D sure was complicated, but the good thing was it made playing 3rd and 4th Ed easy :D

Oh ye gods, yes. I remember people being Very Upset about the new rules, until someone bought a book and we tried it out. After the first couple of combats, nobody complained ever again.

I am not sure about 4th. I'll wait and see.

I've played a dungeon crawl to learn the rules, and part of a campaign in the Forgotten Realms. It wasn't too bad, a little boring at times in combat (I prefered 3rd ed). It reminded me a lot of playing WoW or Guild Wars on papers with the styles of the attacks. Sadly due to issues with the girlfriend of one of the guys I gamed with I had to quit :(
