My Spring semester is finally over! I will have time now, so I am finally going to give in and buy a Nintendo DS ♥ this weekend!
I was tempted to get that Hamtaro Ham-Ham challenge but it's like some little kid game apparently. I also want to get Pokémon of course. But I have no idea which one is the best/I should play first, etc.
I also am curious if Rhythm Heaven is actually good?
And are Naruto games good on the DS?

What are some awesome games that won't take too long to finish but are worth the money?
I would be interested in almost any type of game for the DS. Except the babysitter simulation one and some similar ones, I suppose.

I was addicted to Rune Factory for a while. Of course, you should also grab the Ace Attorney games and Final Fantasy III and IV, since they're both pretty decent remakes.

There's quite a few I'd rec! Short list...
• Pokémon, whatever flavour you like - Platinum's out, though, so if you don't have either of the others it's probably your best bet; the third in the set usually has extra features. It's not out here yet, though, so I can't help you there~~
• The World Ends With You
• Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
• The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
• Chrono Trigger
• All of the classic Mario remakes, and Final Fantasy remakes.
Also Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days comes out in Japanese on the 30th~~

I'm not really much of a DS person, to be honest. I liked the Brain Training nd Big Brain Academy games, but I coul never get into stuff like the Final Fantasy III remake. I'm looking forward to Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver when they come out, though.

As for that Hamtaro game, there's actually a chance it could be pretty decent. I remember picking up a copy of Ham Ham Heartbreak for my Advance a couple of years ago, and while it was very cutesy, it was also a surprising amount of fun. I'd say if the other game is for a good price, you might as well check it out.

Yeah, I really like the Hamtaro games for the Game Boy. I don't know what the DS one would be like, though.

Seconding the recommenations for the FF3 and FF4 remakes (the latter is better, IMO, but the former was cute) and also the Ace Attorney games.

Also, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is amazing and addictive. (Avoid Galactrix. It's awful.)

I hear excellent, excellent things about Avalon Code, though I've not had a chance to try it out myself (it's still sitting on my bookshelf. sob.)

Also, avoid Syberia. It's so slow as to be utterly unplayable.

Okay. If you're buying a Nintendo DS you *have* to buy all the Phoenix Wright games. Or at least the first one. :p

Some of my other favorites are Rune Factory 2, Trauma Center, Pokemon. Also, one of the best games I've ever played on the DS is The World Ends with You. It's really fun and doesn't require hours of grinding like most RPGs do. If you're into the survival horror genre, I recommend Resident Evil: Deadly Silence.

As for Rythmn Heaven, some people don't like the english version, but I think it's fine. :D

If you don't mind mindless grnding and no plot, I recommend Final Fantasy III.

Also, someone mentioned Chrono Trigger and Zelda. Those are great games too. :)

...I didn't intend for this comment to be so long. XD

The one DS game I'm addicted to right now is Drawn to Life which is a pretty cute platformer type game where you basically get to color and draw things with the stylus. It should be pretty cheap for a video game now.

I also recommend Final Fantasy VI and the Ace Attorney games.

I really like Trace Memory, Wario: Master of Disguise, Cooking Mama, and Animal Crossing.

I really really love my 100 Classic Books (not a game, really, I know!), if you read a lot it's really worth the £20, IMO. I find it great when I'm out and about and have used it a lot since I got it.

I also second Pokemon, and Theme Park remake - it's basically the same as the PC version years ago, I've really liked it. I wish they'd do Theme Hospital though!
