So now that I have an actual HDTV that's 42 inches I can play my PS3 games. Yesterday I was playing Mass Effect 2 and it was lots of fun AND I liked that I was able to create my own Shepard! Female but with short hair and androgynous features. Awesome!
I also quickly realized I really really really need to spend some time figuring out how to aim with the controller! I suspect part of the problem is that I'm left handed and don't have really good directional control of my right thumb to aim well - I keep over turning and firing in the wrong places - especially when the shot is long distance. Also - need to work on taking cover and figuring out how to shoot and then get back to cover... the sounds of Shepard getting shot are really distracting.
I don't know what the opinion is on using a walk through guide but since it's my first time playing I did use one to at least get a better overall sense of where what I'm supposed to do. But then there's still multiple options depending on which type of character you create at the beginning.
Some questions:
1)How do I make the other characters do things? I got stuck yesterday because I couldn't figure out how I was meant to order Jacob to use his abilities. I'm sure it's probably pathetically simple but I couldn't figure it out ... ETA: Okay I figured this out while playing some more this morning - mostly by accident! Clearly I need more practice working the controls.
2) According to the guides romance is important in the game... what happens if you don't attempt to generate any romance between the characters? Will the game let you get away with it? Or does it negatively affect Shepard?
3) Is it possible to save one game and then go back and start a new one to create a different version of Shepard?
4) I am planning on getting Mass Effect 3 later and I understand you can port your Shepard to the new game - can you do that multiple times with different versions?
