My current game started out with the DM, my sweetie and me, back in January. A few weeks in, thanks to Meetup.com, we found our wizard. A few weeks ago, the DM brought a friend from work who'd played 3.5, but not fourth. Upon hearing she was female, I was happy because there would be some additional estrogen in the room.
Except I want to strangle her. When her character arrived, her quest was in line with our current plan. Since then, she's made several comments about "doing better on her own." When she's doing that, she's trying to run the team, whereas before, while we were on my quest, we worked in kind of a democracy.
When the wizard came into the picture, we were desperate for help, of any kind, and my bf's character had history with them. Nobody has history with her character, and I can't tell if I dislike the woman playing the character or just the character.
And she works with the DM and gets on well with him, so no chance of her being tossed. He's got to see her every day at work.
What do y'all do to keep yourself from harming annoying players? Besides find a new group--we're working on that, but may stay with this one as well.
