Be honest. How mad do you let yourself get at those boss fights that prove to be really challenging and you KEEP ON PLAYING and yet you KEEP ON DYING right on those last few points of life and it's more frustrating than you could ever imagine? Throw controllers? Cuss? Yell?

I haven't thrown a controller since I was in my teens and I didn't pay for them myself, but even at 21, I still find myself cussing and going, "No!" when I'm losing. I kind of become a kid, especially if I've died 5+ times. I get really angry. I think it'd probably be funny to put on youtube, except, you know, I'd never humiliate myself like that.

I tend to yell and swear reflexively at bosses and even hard 'regular' enemies, but there's not a whole lot of real anger in it. I think I actually get quieter if I'm truly frustrated, and then I end up turning off the system in seething silent rage. XD

If I'm getting really annoyed, I get my partner to do it for me. She's a lot more calm than I am!

I tend to get *bored* rather than angry, probably partly because I view gaming as a sort of story-finding exercise. After a while, I either abandon the game or cheat.

Depending on the boss fight I have two possible reactions.

* If it's a very frustrating boss fight, I tend to swear out loud a lot. This always causes a family member to rush in to see what happened since I don't cuss too much on a daily basis.

Sometimes, I'll be extra stubborn and go against the boss over and over and get killed over and over until I decide to go level up instead or I get lucky. Whichever occurs first.

* If it's very scary boss fight, I don't even stay to fight. I run out of the room and leave my poor character to fend by themselves.

This might as well be a good time to say this: I WILL GET YOU SOMEDAY EMERALD WEAPON!!!!!

Oh, I swear. Copiously. And if it's a really tough boss fight in real time (like in Muramasa), then my swearing is often punctuated by squeals as I try to gtfo from epic attacks. XD

A friend of mine has the most creative swears when she gets pissed at video games. It's often fun to just watch her attempt boss fights just to hear them. ^__^;;

Haha, I'm nearing 30 and I still swear (a lot) when I get frustrated by video games. Especially when it's something that I don't necessarily have control over. I've been playing Assassin's Creed and sometimes the controls are just that much fractionally off that instead of doing a leap of faith, Ezio will leap to his death, etc. And I'm like: are you fucking kidding me!?!?! A lot of times when I'm swearing at the game, it's because of human error. Like when I don't realize my throwing knives are equipped and accidentally murder random townspeople when all I want is to punch them in the face.

LMAO. Or the reverse: meaning to jump across a building during a chase but accidentally do a leap of faith instead. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. This happens to me more in Brotherhood since the leap of faith ledges are more integrated into the sides of buildings and such instead of ONLY being the obvious wooden planks jutting out of tall-ass buildings.

The townspeople murdering part of your comment made me die. XDD

Accidentally doing a leap of faith annoys me a lot less because sometimes that means you can hide out wherever you leaped to. For me the hard part is finding the ledges when you've already scared the pidgins away. COME BACK, PIDGINS.

Seriously, you have no idea how many people I've accidentally killed. It's absurd.

Yeah, unless you have a time limit, or your target is on the verge of escaping. @__@

Finding the ledges isn't that hard for me. I just look down to find the haystack. XD

I've accidentally assassinated innocents with the hidden blades during chases when my target was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.

No, that's true. Though when I'm chasing things, the leap of faith is way less likely that plain old "diving to your death".

In the first game, for the longest time I didn't really understand that you could do low profile assassinations so I would spend TONS of time, clearing areas of guards to complete missions. Kind of hilarious in retrospect but at the time I was like: HOW CAN THEY EXPECT ME TO KILL FIVE PEOPLE IN THREE MINUTES!?!

Have you figured out that you can roll to break your fall from a reasonable height yet? XD

HAHAHA. Yeah, those missions were fun. I loved just walking up behind someone and shanking them before walking off in a blend all nonchalantly. XD

I don't exactly get angry, just annoyed. And as others said on here, I tend to get very bored. But the thing is, despite being tired of the game, I HAVE to beat it! It gets to be like an obsession until I beat the boss. Yet if I'm totally getting destroyed then I'm done. lol. I'll get back to it later and sometimes i'll beat it on my first try! THAT gets me mad! XD Never thrown a controller though. Tossed to the side in defeat maybe but never with force.

I get like that too -- OBSESSED with beating the boss until I just get too pissed to function. >__>; And lo and behold, I easily beat the boss when I come back later, too!

I would yell and throw the controller when I was younger (less than 10), but now I just seethe in silent rage until I get to the point where I want to bludgeon the TV (or a person) with the controller. Then I stop. LOL.

I've learned to take strategic time outs as necessary for my sanity.
