Big Fish Games

Anyone else play the hidden object/adventure games from Big Fish? I just finished the first Drawn game after seeing it rec'd elsewhere and enjoyed it. I love how casual these games are and yet I get so completely sucked into their worlds. I swear it's like old school text games just with graphics and I love how so many have either a female viewpoint or you as the main character.

I've only gotten my games from Big Fish, is there another good place to go for them?

There's an adventure part to them? I've seen one advertised on The Book of Faces made by the same people who run Avengers. I just thought it was like Where's Waldo. >_>

Now a bit about big fish games. I get them from their site online http://www.bigfishgames.com/, but apparently you can buy collections at target/walmart type stores. They offer a new game every day for sale online and have a huge back library of different games. They also have different deals every week, sometimes even buy one get one free.

They have adventure games, puzzles, hidden object, time management, word etc. A lot of games are in multiple categories ie Hidden Object and adventure. You can also download and play the games for an hour for free to see if you like it. Always try to read the reviews because that'll help you avoid some clunkers. (I almost never remember and have gotten some I didn't care for).

My Mum does (Gaming runs in the family, apparently). I buy her a new one every week, so long as there's something there we've not seen before. This is FAR more than you asked for, but here's a list of what she has so far--some publishers are better than others, of course! So far, we're getting these from Walmart and Target.

I'm a big fish member and just get them online from Big Fish, is there an advantage to getting them in the collections at the store?

Right now I'm partway through Escape from Ravenshearst and I have to say the mini games are driving me crazy since in the edition I have there's no instructions on how to play them and they're not all obvious.

At least partially because I didn't know? ;) But she wouldn't anyway, so this works. Plus she likes having the discs, there's the thrill of anticipation--and it encourages her to try similar games from other publishes, so she has more of a variety than he would otherwise. :) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow has been her favourite so far, and that's not a Big Fish title.

I'm thinking about getting my Mom some of them for christmas. I think she'd like them and she wouldn't download them either, so it's good to know I can pick them up at the store. What pack would you say makes a good starter?

Well don't I feel the fool, now! LOL Yes, it's that one.

As for what makes a good starter, I think it depends upon what she'd like--more or less adventure, the ability to have hints or not. Mum loved the two "Escape from" games, and snatches up a new "Legends" game the second it comes out. If nothing else, I'd say go with whether or not you think the story would have any appeal?

I think where to get them's been covered above, but omg yes, I love those games so much. :D :D :D

I've mostly been playing them on my Kindle because it's easy to hide under the bed covers while the partner is sleeping and play them without waking him up. (He goes to bed early for work, I don't actually stay up all night playing them in secret. Well. That having been said, I do play them longer than I ought to...)

I do the same thing! I'll start a game in the evening and have a hard time putting it down until it's done. I love it when they're divided into chapters because those make good stopping points. ^_^

What are some of your favorite games? I just bought a bunch of the parables games since they were half off and had really good reviews.
