For reasons known only to themselves, EA sent me free beta key for The Secret World. I got to play the game last weekend. I was vaguely interested in the game already - while I'm not generally an MMO person, I've played a lot of single player CRPGs and have recently been enjoying Star Wars: The Old Republic. I also love adventure games, so the creator connection with The Longest Journey attracted me.
The short version of my beta experience is: there was some great stuff, some not-so-great stuff, and the former outweighed the latter by enough that I pre-ordered. I get a bonus kitty pet!
