but I was down to one hitpoint at the end. We had a long chat with the DM about the difficulty of the situation (I think he said it was a level 7 encounter; I know the evil cleric was level five, because that's about when you get consecrated ground, which was doing ongoing damage) and instead of getting right into it, he let us plan a way to get out of it.
First step involved me taking four, count 'em, four Attacks of Opportunity to get through the wraith and the door. Last time I took this many AOO's, I was committing suicide. This time, however, I had enough hit points to survive it and managed to hit a wraith for some radiant damage. There's more in my journal, or will be in a bit as I write during the Red Sox game and Burn Notice.
I want to thank everyone who posted in answer to my question last week. I made a point of telling our DM about the comments everyone made, and while I'm not sure he agreed with any of them, he did actually help us in the planning so we all did survive.
