I don't know if anyone here is waiting for Diablo 3, but the latest rumour swirling about is that Blizzard will begin beta testing in early August of (this year according to the Escapist and a few other news sources).
I have so many mixed feelings about this I absolutely LOVED Diablo 2. I started playing it so much that I got my bf at the time so hooked on it he had to buy a computer so we could both play at the same time. I spent YEARS playing it, leveling up, killing cows, doing mob runs, and being part of the community. There were a lot of hacks and pk cheats that really brought the community down, but when I think of D2, I remember random lvl 80's dropping into my Den of Evil games to give me free stuff they didn't need, but would greatly improve my chance of survival. I never begged, and was always appreciative of other's generosity and tried to do the same for others. It was fantastic.
But how long has it been since the peak of D2? How long have we been waiting for D3? I know that I've grown a bit since and I'm no longer interested in the same type of game play. What if I don't like dungeon crawling anymore? What if I get bored? I played Torchlight for a few weeks but eventually put it down and moved on. Is that a mark against Torchlight, or does it mean I'm done with grinding?
Still... when I heard the beta could be out soon, and that the game might actually be out in a year, a shiver went down my spine. I just bought a heavy-duty desktop replacement laptop and I'm sure it'd be able to handle the specs. I could actually play D3 when it comes out. I never thought I would.
Anyone else have fond memories of Diablo 2?

I didn't realise there was a class that had two crossbows. Umm.. weird? LOL. I haven't looked too much into the game because it's been in development FOREVER and who knows what will change before release. Now that things are getting close, I'm tempted to start looking more, but I'm afraid I'll get too excited and impatient. I'm like that. :P
Maybe they auto-reload? The force of the bolt shooting out pulls the next one into place?

I'm sure you'll find the right one eventually. If they can't or won't get your gaming while you are dating they definitely won't get you in a more serious relationship. Good luck on that front. Gamers need gamers.

Guns would totally make more sense! But this will be fun. I like the demon hunters. So many good classes to choose from.
And I am pretty lucky that my partner is a gamer, but I just don't know that he's into Diablo. He doesn't like "grinding" games like that or WoW. But we do a lot of Gears of War and that sort of thing. At least he'll understand why I disappear for hours on end if that's what happens!
#gamersunited :P
